Today we have made chocolate moulds to decorate and have also decorated some biscuits.

We have made paper-mache masks (Princess Fiona and Shreck) for our Shrek themed week next week.

We have done posters on the safety of using the internet.

A group of children did a Hercules performance of singing, acting and dancing, and performed in front of the rest of the group.

We have a self registration board with an insects theme. The children pin their bug onto the flower petals when they arrive in the morning.

Chris has been doing a lot of football and team games in the gym as he is going into his final yr at university training to be a P.E teacher for high school aged children.

We have been cutting and sticking making holiday club collage posters to brighten up the walls.

We have made salt dough and the children made their own thing ranging from bugs to hotdogs to bowls, they then painted them after they had been in the over.

All children have their own holiday club diary which they put an entry in each day of what they have done each day and what they have enjoyed.

Week commencing – 5/7/10
Went on an insect walk around the school field collecting insects, brought materials back such as grass to make pictures from.
Active day- went on adventure park and had a mini sports day, little prizes for winners
Made pizza which they ate for snack and chose what topping they all wanted.
made cheese straws for afternoon snack.

Week commencing – 12/7/10

Made French flags and posters for display ready for  Bastille day
Researched famous French places
Bastille day – red white and blue day (children and staff dressed up) have pictured printed off but cant attach as was on old managers camera
French snacks throughout the day: croissants and made French baguettes and garlic bread.

Week commencing – 19/7/10
Designed and made own kite tested them on the field
Decorated cupcakes with icing sugar and sprinkles.
Baked Flapjacks to take home.

Week commencing – 26/7/10
This week we have planned a crazy sock day which will be on Thursday
Bring cardboard boxes i  from home, make own models.
Italian Day on Friday, make flags, posters, wear red green and white and make Italian snacks which we will research and ask the children about.

This week at Montgomery High School there’s a Shrek theme all week.  With superb activities all week long including :-

  • Making and decorating gingerbread men.
  • Decorating the cinema room/corridor as a swamp.
  • Painting pictures of Shrek and the other characters.
  • Making paper mache Shreck/Fiona masks.
  • Making a donkey pinyata.
  • Typing and making a display on ‘my perfect swamp’.
  • Shrek Olympics (ie medieval Olympics).
  • Fancy dress.
