The children have been very busy so far at Palatine holiday club.  From painting to baking, bug hunting to dancing the fun is never ending.

The competition for ‘Star of the week’ is getting very close with certificates and prizes multiplying.

The theme for this week at Palatine Safehands Holiday Club is Toy Story as we are going on a cinema trip to see Toy Story 3 on Thursday.  To carry out the theme over the week the children are taking part in various activities relating to the films.

The children can:

  • Make a Mr. Potato Head using a potato and different craft materials to decorate him.
  • Make ‘Ham the pig’. The children will use paper mache to create their own money boxes.
  • Toy story posters (such as ‘Andy’s toys’)
  • Create their own Aliens using salt dough and paint.
  • Create a green toy soldier by using green play dough.
  • On Friday the children are ‘going to Andy’s party’ just like in the first Toy story. The children will be making some chocolate cornflake cakes for the party.

Next week we are celebrating the start of the football season for Blackpool by having a ‘Tangerine Tuesday’. The children are asked to wear an item of clothing that is white or tangerine.

On Thursday 19th August children can go on a trip to Blackpool Zoo where they will join all our other holiday clubs – please call for further information.

During the first week of holiday club we all took part in group activities to help get to know one another.  To begin the week as we mean to go on all the children agreed on a set of rules that both staff and children found fair to ensure everyone is safe and ensures that we can have lots of fun whilst at holiday club.

The children also took part in:
