We provide a wide variety of activities and experiences for all age groups.  For all children up to five, Safehands Holiday Clubs work with in the  Early Years Foundation Stage framework.  This framework ensures children up to 5 years old are planned for individually and their interests are taken into account when doing this. We work closely with parents when developing learning journeys and ensure that children are entertained and happy at all times.

Complete details of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework can be found on the Department of Education website.  Below are the type of activities an early years child can enjoy.

  • Creative development – we provide support for children to explore and play using a range of media. We encourage children to share thoughts and feelings through art, dance and imaginative play.

  • Physical Development – we ensure that we plan experiences for children to be active and improve their skills of co-ordination, control and movement. We teach children the importance of healthy eating and physical activity.

  • Knowledge and Understanding of the world – we will help children make sense of the world by using the materials and resources  which reflect cultures and diversity. We will allow children the freedom of choice when selecting activities to partake in.

  • Personal, Social and Emotional development – we will encourage children to respect themselves and each other and we will develop ther social skills through turn taking and sharing opportunities. All children will be encouraged to join in group activities and to create relationships with both their peers and staff members.

  • Communication, Language and Literacy development – we will provide support with early literacy skills, speech and communication skills. Resources for mark making, reading and writing are on offer daily.

  • Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy – we will encourage children’s natural curiosity and allow them to explore, learn and practice through opportunities and experiences.

If you have any thoughts or ideas regarding activities, we would be delighted to hear from you – please us our contact form to get in touch.
